My Phalanopsis orchid looks ail

The bottom two leaves are starting to show signs of yellowing and new roots are growing on top of the soil. Some of them would turn brown and dry out.

The room is very bright in the morning.

22nd Update on my Heritage rose...

Today, the flowers appear more pinker than last time. Looks girly and the flowers almost resemble like a camillea.

The blooms look yummy and delicious...I had to move this shrub to a shadier area to prolong the flowering time.

20th Update on my Heritage rose

Heritage has the tendency to arch. As a result of this, it can be use as a small climber or a pillar shrub.

I had to tie my bush to prevent branches from breaking off. Looks good that way, because the flowers are not evenly distrubuted.

Another hot day today. Planning to get another David Austin pink variety this coming weekend. That is if I could find any.

Heritage to me is like having an Ice-berg rose with a tinge of colour in it. In full sun, Heritage flowers look almost white.

This morning I noticed a light lemony colour on some flowers. I love this colour.

Revisit to Garden World

Yesterday, I went to Garden world in the hope of getting a new rose. Unfortunately they don't have much variety there.

But seeing those roses in full bloom was worth the day's trip.

This morning photos. The weather looks a bit gloomy today.

Hot and humid today so I decided to move my rose to a shadier position. Hopefully my Heritage will produce more pink flowers than white flowers.

Pennisetum Rubrum

This got to be one of my favorite plants in my backyard. I like the soft tail-like flowers that bow and sway in the breeze. Looks great if mass planted along the driveway.

11th Update on my Heritage rose

Since the last update, my Heritage rose is becoming bushier...I like that. New buds are forming. More buds than last time and I can't wait for them to open up. New shoots are red in colour, but they turn green eventually.

Update on my Sango kaku

The leaves are starting to change colour in the middle of summer -that's interesting ... or should I say sun burnt instead? Compare the two with the last photo taken in spring-time.

10th Update on my Heritage rose

Well, the flowering has nearly finish...yesterday was incredibly hot, forcing most of the buds to open. The flowers look glossy white in full sun and get blown away easily in windy conditions.
I was planning to buy another David Austin rose called, "Comtes de Campaign" but have to postpone this to a later date. We are currently in stage 3 water restriction. There hasn't been any rain-fall in Melbourne and if this drought going to keep up, melbournians would most likely be drinking reycled water.
This morning, the sky looks a bit gloomy and still very humid. There's a possible thunderstorm.
One flower looks apricot-ish while the other look pink-ish.

My other plants...

This is a japanese maple called, "Sango-Kaku", otherwise known as Coral Bark.
This tree has been with me for about 4 years. It's growing in a pot because I'm renting and would like to bring all my plants with me if I decided to move.
This tree develops lush green leaves in spring-time and gets sun burnt during the summer period. Would have been a lot taller and bushier if it was grown in the ground instead of a pot. During windy condtions, the pot tends to tip over, causing some branches to break.
The first 3 years were disappointing - never get to see the fall colours because by the end of the summer period the leaves would already scorched and turned brown.
This year, I've decided to move this tree to a shady area and avoid the sun as much as I could and water deeply every morning.
No signs of aphids this year which is a very good news.

The weather was nice and sunny. What would be a better way to spend the day other than strolling along the city and enjoying the views of the river?
